Students are responsible for the full travel program cost (minus the Elevate travel credit, if applicable), tuition, required travel insurance fee, and recommended personal spending money, as outlined on the program webpage.

If applicable, the Elevate travel credit may be applied toward one travel program during an undergraduate student’s time at Moravian. The listed program cost reflects the balance for which the student is financially responsible after any applicable Elevate travel credit is applied. The required travel insurance fee is separate from the listed program cost.

Â鶹¹û¶³ does not offer payment plans for short-term travel programs, and travel charges cannot be included in a tuition payment plan.

Payment Deadlines

Deadlines are based on the travel term:

• Winter Break travel: October 15
• Spring Break travel: November 15
• May Term travel: February 15

Loan refunds and scholarship disbursements are processed by Financial Aid and Student Accounts on timelines that may not align with short-term travel payment deadlines. Students are responsible for contacting the Center for Global Â鶹¹û¶³ if these timelines affect their ability to pay the remaining balance by the due date. 

Withdrawal Policy

Students who wish to withdraw from a short-term travel program must notify the Center for Global Â鶹¹û¶³ in writing.

Students may withdraw within 10 business days of submitting the travel agreement without financial penalty. After that period, a $250 withdrawal fee will be charged to the student account, and the student remains responsible for any non-recoverable costs incurred or committed on their behalf. These costs may include up to the full program cost and travel insurance fee.

Exceptions to withdrawal charges may apply only in cases of documented sudden or unexpected injury, emergency medical care, accident, serious illness, or death, as defined by the travel insurance policy.

Short-term education abroad programs include academic and participation expectations. Students are required to attend and participate in all program meetings, classes, activities, and required events. Students must also register for the course associated with the travel program and ensure there are no course conflicts.

If a student misses any required component, they are responsible for communicating directly with the faculty or staff leader and making reasonable efforts to make up missed work.

Passport and Documentation

Students must have a passport that does not expire within six months after the anticipated return date. Students who do not currently have a valid passport should apply for a new or renewed passport before they will be approved to sign a travel agreement.

If a student submits proof that they applied for a passport, participation remains contingent upon submitting a valid passport by all required deadlines.

Behavior and Conduct

Students are required to follow the Â鶹¹û¶³ Student Code of Conduct before, during, and after travel. While traveling domestically or internationally, students are also subject to the local, state, and national laws of the destination.

Students do not have immunity or special legal status while abroad and may be subject to local legal consequences in addition to University sanctions. Failure to comply with these expectations may result in dismissal from the program and immediate return home at the student’s own expense.

Program Availability

If a selected program does not meet minimum enrollment or is canceled, students may apply for another available program. The Center for Global Â鶹¹û¶³ will make reasonable efforts to offer alternatives but cannot guarantee placement in another program.

Students and families should make sure they understand:

• Submitting the travel agreement is a binding commitment
• Students are responsible for the full program cost (minus Elevate travel credit, if applicable), tuition, required travel insurance, and personal expenses
• Payment is due by the deadline for the selected travel term
• Payment plans are not available for short-term travel programs
• Students may withdraw within 10 business days without financial penalty
• After 10 business days, withdrawal fees and non-recoverable costs may apply
• Students must meet passport and documentation deadlines
• Students must participate in all required program meetings, classes, activities, and events
• Students are subject to University conduct expectations and destination laws while traveling
