Research interests and expertise
Ben Coleman has been at Moravian since completing his graduate studies at the College of William & Mary in 2003. Throughout his career, his research interests have evolved from theoretical computer science to encompass practical aspects of software engineering, cloud computing, and data science - with a particular interest in pedagogy within the discipline. His goal is to engage in scholarship where he can work with students to write software that uses data to address real-world problems.
Ben values projects that blur the lines between teaching, scholarship and service. He has been awarded grants from the NSF to develop software to support seismology education, from Merck to explore ways that technology can improve patient care, and from the Delaware Legal Aid Society to use case data to argue for better representation in eviction cases. These projects have contributed to the community, produced peer-reviewed results, and been used as class examples and projects in a variety of computer science and data science courses.
Ben is the program chair for both computer science and data science, and as one of three faculty in the computer science program, he teaches a wide variety of courses including the introductory sequence, web programming, data wrangling, cloud computing, a computing careers course, and the senior capstone course.

Research interests and expertise
Jeffrey Bush is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Â鶹¹û¶³ and runs the 3D Printing Lab. He is co-manager of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network partnership with Moravian. His focus is computer vision and education, especially on how computer science and 3D printing can be used within other disciples, including biology, neuroscience, and occupational therapy. He teaches courses in Intro to Computer Science, 3D Printing and Design, Mobile App Development, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and High Performance Computing. He has received grants from the NSF XSEDE project for teaching high-performance computing and LiveWell AppFactory for the development of a mobile application for organizing and providing models of accessible devices for 3D printing.

Research interests and expertise
Anna Engelsone joined Moravian faculty in 2026. Her research interests are interdisciplinary. She is particularly interested in applications of data mining in social sciences and humanities. Her areas of expertise include data management, data wrangling, mathematical modeling, and machine learning. As an IT consultant, she has built custom software for small businesses and nonprofits. As a data scientist, she used machine learning and mathematical optimization techniques to help nonprofits increase their reach and businesses to boost their profits. As a teacher and mentor, her goal is to ensure that students master the fundamentals and critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly changing world while exposing them to real data and real problems that can be solved through software engineering and machine learning. She teaches Intro to Computer Science, Data Visualization, and Database Management Systems
