RN to BSN Nursing Program Objectives

Upon successful completion of the program of study, it is expected that the graduate will:

  1. Synthesize knowledge from the humanities, sciences, and nursing as the foundation for clinical decision making and providing evidence-based care to individuals, families, communities, and populations.
  2. Provide person-centered nursing care to individuals, families, communities, and populations to foster optimal health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
  3. Apply population health perspectives in advocating for and responding to the diverse health needs of individuals, families, communities, and populations. 
  4. Integrate scientific inquiry and best evidence to inform nursing practice, education, research, and policy. 
  5. Implement quality improvement principles in provision of safe, cost-effective healthcare to promote a culture of safety. 
  6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and stakeholders to strengthen healthcare outcomes in a variety of settings.
  7. Utilize informatics and healthcare technologies at individual and system levels to support nursing practice.
  8. Develop professional identity through adherence to ethical, legal, and clinical practice professional standards.
  9. Demonstrate leadership through the practice of awareness, curiosity, resiliency, and reflection.
