Program Overview
In less than two years, complete your Speech-Language Pathology Doctorate degree entirely online with just one three-day summer residency. This is your opportunity to advance your career and support the unique needs of diverse populations through interprofessional education and evidence-based practices.
In your final year of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a mentor in a specialized area of focus. The mentorship is completely individualized and focused on your specific career goals. For example, you can learn more in the content areas of dysphagia and dyslexia, or you can dive deeper into teaching and learning practices, lead a statewide advocacy project, conduct clinical research, or develop a business plan for your own private practice. The possibilities are endless.
Program Outcomes
Within five academic semesters, you’ll have elevated your confidence, skills, and knowledge to benefit your career as a speech-language pathologist. Upon completion of the program, you’ll be able to:
- Collaborate with others through interprofessional education practices in a manner that optimizes quality of care provided to individuals.
- Critically evaluate research literature and integrate evidence-based practices into clinical decision-making.
- Lead and advocate for change in healthcare or education policy through ethical and strategic decision-making and effective professional communication.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of a program or intervention using appropriate data, and recommend specific improvements based on the findings.
- Exhibit competency in searching, retrieving, and utilizing information derived from online and/or internal databases to guide appropriate, individualized care.
- Design inclusive teaching and learning processes to meet the diverse learning needs of adults in adult learning settings across a variety of clinical and educational contexts.
